Looking for something fun to do this fall? Check out these local family-friendly events that are in and around Wake Forest, NC and an easy drive from the new homes Holding Village or North Raleigh.
Flix4Kidz – Catch an early movie with the kids at the Wake Forest Renaissance Centre. These free movie screenings are open to the public and show on the second Monday morning (10:30am) of every month.
Art After Hours – Explore the streets of downtown Wake Forest! The second Friday evening of every month local artists, entertainers and other special guests gather on White Street from 4pm – 9pm. Come out and enjoy music, art, shopping, horse carriage rides and other kid-friendly activities.
Fall Foliage Tours – Discover the beauty of fall and learn all about the native trees of Wake Forest, NC at this year’s Fall Foliage Tour. This one-hour educational event takes place on October 25th at 10am and again at 2pm. No registration is required to attend and all ages are welcome!
NC State Fair – Bring the whole family out to enjoy thrilling rides, deep-fried delectables and stunning fireworks at the annual North Carolina State Fair. The fair opens on October 12th and runs through October 22nd with a fireworks show every night at 9:45pm. Get your tickets today! Seniors and children (ages 5 and under) get free admission.
Flaherty Dog Park – Pets are part of the family too! When you want to explore beyond the outdoor parks, lake and trails at Holding Village, take your furry friend out for a run or a game of fetch at the local dog park in Wake Forest. Flaherty park consists of two acres of wide-open greenery, where dogs can roam around safely and play leash-free!
Hill Ridge Farms – Whether you’re celebrating a birthday or just want a fun family outing, Hill Ridge Farms is the place! This festive farm offers a variety of things to see and do, from train rides and playhouses to farm animals and splash pads. Visit by November 11th to get a free pumpkin with your hayride!
Halloween Spooktacular – Get the kids out your new home for some free and spooky fun in Wake Forest! This annual event is held at the Flaherty Park Community Center on Thursday, October 26th from 4:30pm to 8:30pm. Halloween costumes are encouraged but not mandatory, and activities include face painting, a cupcake walk, free pumpkin giveaways, ghostly games and more!
