Fall Fun in Wake Forest NC – September Events to Check Out

September is the perfect time to start checking out fall fun in Wake Forest, NC. Take a peek below at some of the September events to check out in town.

We’re sad to say the last Friday Night on White for the year will be held on September 13. Crush, a band known for bringing audiences classic and Top 40 hits, will hit the stage at 6pm. While you’re out, don’t miss hitting some of the amazing downtown establishments or the on-site food trucks for dinner!

Just because Friday Night on White is coming to an end for the year, doesn’t mean the fun is, though! 

On Saturday, September 14, the Wake Forest Renaissance Centre is hosting the second annual Trung Thu Moon Festival. In the Vietnamese culture, this is one of the two most important festivals, an ancient celebration that revolves around children. During the Wake Forest Trung Thu Moon Festival, families can learn about the Vietnamese culture through music, stories, dance, food, and arts and crafts.

Also at the Wake Forest Renaissance Centre, Steel Magnolias will begin a two-weekend run on Friday, September 20. Be sure to grab your tickets before they’re gone! 

The Wake Forest Human Relations Council (HRC) will sponsor the 14th Annual Good Neighbor Day on Saturday, September 21, from 1pm to 4pm. This family-friendly event is free to attend, and it brings together folks from all walks of life for a day of food, fun, and family entertainment.

On Sunday, September 22, the 40th Annual CROP Hunger Walk will take place. A portion of the money raised will be shared by Tri-Area Ministry Food Pantry and Wake Forest Hope House.

Nationally celebrated storytellers and musical guests will take part in Wake County’s 37th Annual Storytelling Festival on Saturday, September 28 at Historic Oak View County Park. Bring chairs or blankets, and spend the day listening to tales being told.

Also on the 28th, check out the ARTS Wake Forest presents Wake Forest Dance Festival. Featuring regional, national, and international professional dancers, as well as local rising advanced dance students, dancers will perform in different areas of E Carroll Joyner Park throughout the day.

Every Saturday, head downtown for the Wake Forest Farmers Market. Though this is technically a year-round event, not just held in the fall, the seasonal goods you’ll find there will change. The operating hours also change (from 8am until noon to 10am until noon), starting in November.

On the second Sunday of every month, the American Legion hosts a pancake breakfast. Grab an all you care to eat breakfast of pancakes, sausage, coffee, tea, milk, and orange juice, all for just $5 per person!
