Summer is one of the most exciting times in Wake Forest. Whether you are looking for something fun to do with your friends or you want to find some family-friendly activities that your kids will enjoy, there are always fun events going on in the Wake Forest area. Here are a few popular activities that you may want to check out in July and August.
Wake Forest Food Truck Rodeo – Sunday, July 17
Come taste different foods from a variety of vendors at the next food truck rodeo. Forget driving all around town! Where else can you try food from several different restaurants all in one place? The Wake Forest Food Truck Rodeo is held at Renaissance Place (405 S. Brooks Street) from 12:00 until 4:00 p.m. There will even be a kid’s zone to keep your little ones entertained with road chalk, face painting, and other activities. One more tip: bring some folding chairs if you plan to hang out for a while!
First Friday Flix – Friday, August 5
On the first Friday of each month, the Wake Forest Renaissance Centre hosts First Friday Flix. August’s film will be Union Bound, which was produced by Uptone Pictures, a production company based in Wake Forest. The movie tells the true story of Joseph Hoover, a Union Soldier who was captured and eventually earned his freedom through the underground railroad. There will be a cocktail reception at 6:30 p.m., and the film will begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online here.
Beach Night on White – Saturday, August 20
The 2nd annual Beach Night on White is scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 20 from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. Bring your family and friends along for a fun night in downtown Wake Forest. The band of the evening will be Jim Quick & Coastline, who has been touring throughout the southeast for over 15 years. Come dance to the beach music and other popular tunes from the band at this free event. Last year, at the inaugural event, it is estimated that between 8,000 and 10,000 people flocked to South White Street – so come early!
