People who live in Wake Forest love it! It is known for mild weather, top schools, a thriving job market, and plenty of things to do. This last one is what we want to talk about today. There’s something really exciting that Wake Forest is known for- really fun kids activities!
You know it’s healthy for your kids to get out of the house and do more than stare at screens. While some areas give you few options for fun kids activities, Wake Forest gives you plenty! In fact, this list is only the beginning:
#1 Hike One of Wake Forest’s Scenic Trails
Wake Forest enjoys some of the best weather in the country, as well as the most beautiful scenery. Our area offers easy access to some of the best hiking spots you’ll ever find. Neuse River Trail and Falls Lake Trail are a few of our favorites, but there are countless others.
#2 Ice Skate at Polar Ice House
If you have a hockey fan, a budding ice dancer, or simply kids who love to be active, this is an incredibly fun way to spend the day. Little ones can learn to skate or play hockey, or older kids who are more serious can hone their skills. Polar Ice House features two ice rinks that meet NHL regulations for size. The rinks host open skating with lights and music, as well as hockey tournaments and league play. The best part about this idea is that it doesn’t matter what the weather is like outside, you can still get your kids out of the house and burning off their energy!
#3 Play Games at Galaxy Fun Park
Located in nearby Raleigh, NC, this amazing place features 60,000 square feet of indoor family fun! When you get there, you’ll be amazed to see trampolines, go-karts, laser tag, a ropes course, spin zone bumper cars, and black light putt putt all in the same place. There’s also delicious hot food, like wings and cheeseburgers, so plan to stay for a while. After all, once you get to Galaxy Fun Park, your kids certainly won’t want to leave!
#4 Spend the Day at Hill Ridge Farms
Hill Ridge Farms is the area’s best destination for old-fashioned family fun! Playing with all the cute farm animals is great, but when you find out that this farm is so much more than cuddly animals, you will be truly amazed. It is filled with other kids activities! Your family could take a fun train ride, try and make it out of the colorful maze, or get hopping in the bounce house. There is also an 80-foot slide. The corn playhouse is always a popular attraction too.
#5 See the Animals at Animal Ed.ventures Sanctuary
This is a 12-acre animal sanctuary that features over 60 creatures, from iguanas and kangaroos to sloths and vervet monkeys to chinchillas to fennec foxes. There are loads of animals to interact with and the animals are incredibly friendly. Peacocks freely roam the grounds. For a small upcharge, you can feed and pet a sloth.
Today’s best homes come with a lot more than just four walls and a quarter-acre yard. We’re talking, of course, about the neighborhood amenities! That is why it’s important to point out that when you live in Holding Village, you won’t actually need to leave your neighborhood to enjoy family fun. There are plenty of kids activities right around the corner, quite literally! A community pool, expansive green spaces, and a large lake are only the beginning. Your kids can walk the family dog, fish from the pier, play on the community playground, and so much more. Holding Lake is a perfect place to kayak! There is no other community in Wake Forest that has a nature-made 15-acre lake as an amenity. Take a quick peek at our community photo gallery and you’ll see exactly what we mean! Not only will you absolutely love your new house, you’ll adore the entire neighborhood as well.
