3 Activities to do with the Family in Wake Forest

Wake Forest is considered one of the best places to live with family in the Triangle for a reason. The Town of Wake Forest is bustling yet homey, picturesque yet convenient, and offers all the amenities that modern families desire. It is no wonder so many families choose to live here!

As great as your new house in Holding Village will be, you’re not going to spend all day every day at home of course. You want to get out and about and enjoy the area! But, where should you go? We’re so glad you asked because we created a helpful list of some of our favorite family-friendly activities in the Wake Forest area. They are:

#1. Blue Jay Point County Park

Blue Jay Point County Park is a 236-acre park located in the northern part of the county. If you’re looking to get your family outdoors, this is the place to do it. There’s a playground for younger kids, hiking trails for teens and adults, a picnic area for lunch, a place for fishing, and so much more. People of all ages are sure to love Go Ape Treetop Adventure!

#2. Winterpast Farm

This farm, filled with wonderful barnyard animals, is 10 acres of outdoor fun with the family. You will be given all the food you need to then go and feed llamas, emus, goats, sheep, a pony, pigs, and even guinea pigs. After you feed the animals, you can find eggs, head out and spot nests, look for woodpeckers and get active on a refreshing hike. If you’re looking for the perfect way to spend the day that people of all ages will love, this is it!

#3. Falls Lake State Recreation Area

This is the top-rated Wake Forest attraction on TripAdvisor for a reason. It is a vast 12,000-acre area of nothing but nature. More than 300 campsites at four of the access areas offer a range of outdoor experiences from RV hookups to primitive tent camping and group camps. There are five swim beaches in the recreation area and quite a few boating ramps as well. The Beaverdam access offers a network of mountain biking trails and the Mountains-to-Sea State Trail winds through parts of the recreation area and is a centerpiece of a network of hiking trails. You can spend more than the afternoon with your family here, that’s for sure!
