It’s time for the 2018 Public Power Lineworkers Rodeo!
This free, all-day event is hosted for the first time ever at Wake Forests’ very own Holding Village – a new construction community, just outside of the Research Triangle.
The event will be held Saturday, April 28 with the opening ceremony beginning at 7:30am. The competition begins at 8am and will continue throughout the day. If you’ve never attended an event of this kind, the Public Power Lineworkers Rodeo is a showcase of the nation’s public power lineworker skill and knowledge. Apprentice and journeyman lineworkers from across the United States will compete for national recognition and display essential job skills – 30 feet above ground!
The event will also feature a PowerSecure Fun Zone for kids including activities like face painting, corn pit, photo booth, pole climbing, NC Public Power touch-a-truck, a coloring station and more! Be sure to come hungry because there will be a huge variety of the area’s best food trucks including Baguettaboutit, Baton Rouge Cuisine, Cousins Maine Lobster, Daddy Bob’s Barbeque, JAM Soft Serve Ice Cream & Shaved Ice, Jay’s Italian Ice, Kono Pizza, Mama Voula’s, Mr. Mongolian, Spanglish, Will and Pop’s.
To find the event location, simply drive up S. Franklin Street from Rogers Road, past the Holding Village entrance. You’ll see our community amenity center and neighborhood pool on your left and the rodeo will be at the end of the street – we’re sure you’ll see all the action!
While you’re here, we invite you to tour the beautiful, spacious model homes from Holding Village by our nationally-renowned builders: Ashton Woods, John Wieland Homes and Neighborhoods and Drees Homes. We know you’ll find something you love in our new home community.
